Ballet + Science = AWESOME

Happy Sunday, Spartan dancers! I hope you’re out enjoying the sunshine and slight rise in temperatures today.

An amazing performance opportunity is coming up right here at MSU! Isotopes in Motion is a collaboration between Happendance and the MSU Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB). I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a science-based ballet before! The official description:

“An exhilarating performance that combines dance, video, and physics while featuring professional dancers and guest performances by local youth. The show, inspired by Dance Exchange’s critically acclaimed work The Matter of Origins, highlights the wonders of science and illuminates the research at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB). Following the performance, audience members are invited to participate in a series of activities which explore dance, physics, and FRIB.”

Isotopes in Motion will take place on Saturday, 21 March 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Pasant Theatre, and tickets are just $10 per adults and $5 for youth. You can get your tickets at the Wharton Center box office, or online at their website. As with every dance performance at MSU (it would seem) there is only one show available – so I highly recommend that you secure your ticket before they sell out!

Such an incredible opportunity – and what an amazing idea! Enjoy!
